I would try and align everything so that the specular highlight falls on the border of the pupil and iris.

I happen to like children shots and this one is no exception. A very good close up with beautiful soft focus. The texture of the skin comes through beautifuly. My main sugggestion would be to crop out the out of focus white on the right side, even if you had to hve more of the face. If you were only going to show one eye I feel you should have shown none of the other. Or all of both. Just my opinion though. Otherwise great shot. Beautiful subject. PTL

I have stated before that eyes are very difficult to capture sharply. This holds true here. it appears that your camera focused on the edge of the eyelid, effectively softening the iris.
