Comment by RonBeam:
Tighter crop, you've got an 2-tone abstract of presently unknown aesthetic appeal, dependent upon the crop and rotation. Wider crop, you have a scenic shot that could perhaps tell a story. The problem with the present piece, is that it is a "tweener" with some graphic, but little tonal challenge for viewer interpretation.

edit for spelling correction

If I may be honnest I think this picture just lacks an interesting subject.
You hit the challenge head on, it's a reflection without mirrors, but you also have to try and capture the intrest of the voters and try to please them with what you are showing them.
Make them want to come back and take another look at it, make them wanting to frame it and hang it in their house.
I'm not saying that it's a bad photo. Technicaly it's good, it's focussed it's sahrp, but that's about it. Try to please others is the tip I can give you.

Hope that helps.

First of all thanks for the comment. As I can see most of the photographers/users on this site are from the US.So far so good.A lot of photos in this challenge were about flags(the US flag) which it doesn't inspires me pride, maybe because i'm european. The other category were children which is also some kind of photographers personal pride. It didn't reflect a general view of the challenge(in my opinion). The photos are very well done but i don't see more pride in a flag than in my girlfriend eye.But what's done is done.
Now about my "EYE" ...i tried to expres in my shot the pride of a woman, because we all know that women, unlike man, are in a continnuous competition one with another. And there is a competition about everything:clothes,shues,parfumes,boyfriends/husbands etc.etc.

the blue ribbon is MINE I tell you!! muahahahahaha!

hehe, sorry. nice picture. wish this were in the member challenge so you could have selectively sharpened the eye more. could have used a little more DOF to catch the eyelash detail. and not to be picky, but there's either makeup dust in the upper right, or those are blackheads. I like the mole :o). 6 overall
