Its in the eyes.by MattOComment by GoodEnd: There is no soft focus here. Soft focus has a misty character with the edges softened and bright areas turned like fog. It results of light difusion before the lens. |

....of an orange.by MattOComment by alexjack: Now I'll speak of something I know almost nothing about... but here goes. In his book "Mastering Color Digital Photography" by Michael Freeman ( agreat book btw) he speaks about various color combos including orange and blue. He says "because orange is twice as luminous as blue the two colors work best in a ratio of 2 blue to 1 orange" (I'm paraphrasing here.) I wonder, if using this as a guide if your orange were a bit smaller, to allow the area ratio described above, the picture may be more effective. It appears that you are closer to 1 to 1.
Anyway, just a thought, nice job.

....of an orange.by MattOComment by sherpet: I really love the striking color contrast of this simple subject matter image of an orange.
A really strong image that stands alone. |

Yeah I got my (fish)eye on that new GT.by MattOComment by redmoon: you've somehow made what was a very pretty car into something resembly a tacky limo! i really don't think the fisheye is the best sort of lens on this sort of subject ;at least not head on. it does have the benefit of looking like nothing else though! i like how sharp it is, and the clean whiteness of the car really shows between the sky and paviors. the sunlight on the left is far too harsh, though, and the building on the left and the red car on the right distact some. as does your reflection! 6. |
