I think you may have had a stronger image if you had taken the picture from the top, allowing for a big square crop, using the plate as the background and filling the screen with cinnamon roll. The skinniness of the image doesn't do much for your presentation. Would gladly eat the roll though any day. ;)

Coming back to comment after voting earlier. Great lighting on your subject that shows off the nice golden crisp brown of the cinnabon along with the white sugary-sweet tasting frosting. Simple presentation with a widescreen view giving the viewer 'the big picture'. The widescreen view however contrasts with the small size of the cinnabon on the plate - meaning a smaller plate would make the cinnabon fill the screen more in conjunction with the 'big' feeling one gets from a widescreen view. Overall, a great simple and clean presentation of this sweet treat:-)

I like how you used a platter with some color, and a textured surface. Might have been nice to see some of the icing dripping down the side, or have a bite out of it with icing on the plate so you see it while being eaten to add some drama.

Wow!
Totally underrated image.
I did not vote on this challenge, but your picture would be my choice for the blue ribbon. I agree with yanko about the tight crop, but even so the picture is outstanding.
Congratulations!!

In a bokeh challenge, the key is to get the bokeh to be the defining feature of the shot. You should be able to look at the photo and say, "The background elements contribute to the overall feeling of the photo". Is that what can be said about this shot? Well, not really.

What defines this shot IS the frozen ball. Period. It's the whole reason the shot exists, and the whole reason for looking at the photo. It's "Wow, he got a ball frozen in time during a pitch! cool!" However, we don't even care one iota about background elements. They are secondary and provide no meaning to the photo.

In a bokeh challenge, you need the BOKEH to be what's looked at and talked about. Instead, you have the ball being that primary aspect, and the ball isn't bokeh.

Quite frankly, a 6.2+ is far more than this shot probably SHOULD have got, but you scored higher than I would have thought it would have placed because you did manage to wow people with the frozen action and got them to look past the fact that bokeh plays no part. So instead of looking negatively that the score might have been higher, look positively that it's actually as high as it is.

Really? You think the person who threw that ball and the person that caught that ball has nothing to with telling the story of the ball? To me the people in this photo tell the story.

It didn't score well because it's too real, simple as that.

It's not a setup, perfectly pretty, macro / portrait / photoshop creation, it's a real journalist (very well captured) sporting shot.

This shot belongs somewhere else where people will "get it", not at DPC.
