Fairly nice shot...too bad about the boring sky/lighting. It would be nice to see this taken with a more dramatic sky.

It might be a bit oversharpened, but on my screen, it gives it a "storybook" touch of unreality that Ilike. Well composed.

Something just doesn't quite ... Don't know, maybe just the light. You've plainly tried hard to bring some interest back into the sky, almost successfully, though it still seems a touch over exposed. Maybe composition - I appreciate the desire to show the lillies, but not convinced that they add to enough to warrant demoting the interest in the house and it's framing trees. The quality of light on the stone seems really good, which just makes it a bit more annoying that you haven't concentrated on that. The masterful shot, it seems to me, and for this challenge, would be the house and the trees. Close though, for all my griping.

Hi from the Critique Club!
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

This is a lovely scene - a very typical depiction of hope for many people. It's well composed with some beautiful details but the tones and contrast are suffering an imbalance. There appears to be some heavy use of the shadow/highlight filter which suggests that the shot was rescued rather than a clean original. In such instances I would not submit the shot unless delighted with the results.

I think you've almost achieved what you wanted here, but it's clear to me that the shot you wanted in-camera wasn't quite there. You have still managed to communicate the theme however and it's where I look whenever I hope for positivity to visit me!

Cheers
Jon

The almost hidden view of the back manor peaks the curiousity and makes this shot even more intriguing.
