Just a gorgeous photo. How dare people say she is anorexic. They don't even know her. My neice is in cheerleading, dance, and gymnastics and looks almost like the girl in your photo. She is far from being anorexic. She eats like crazy never throws up and never gains weight. I lived with her for three years and know this. But congrats on the ribbon. You have talent.

This is an amazing image. Its technical qualities plus it's unique presentation and absolute 100% match to the challenge topic is responsible for its high score. You have trivialized it with some of your responsive comments.

Congrats on the 1st place.
Your shot is absolutely stunning, I find myself wondering if I will ever be able to create such great work.

I wanted to support you on your rant against some commenter's, I understand how frustrating it can be when people talk about stuff that is none of their business and specially when it has nothing to do with your work. I believe anorexia has much more to do with behavior than weight, so it can´t be judged by photographs.

Well done.

Probably the "best" ligting I've seen on a model here to date. Everything works here, the front and back lighting draws the strange shape, interesting looking model and pose, colors, just all great! I do also like the outtake with the same model. Well done!

Laurent!! Super shot, I knew it when I first saw it that it would ribbon. Respect!

In my opinion your model is not anorexic, I have seen anorexic and although your model is very slim I wouldn't count it as anorexic. I know it is difficult but let any mean comments against the model fly by you. It shouldn't overshadow your win of this challenge. Very much looking forward to your further work.

Laurent, firstly Congratulations on your ribbon - this one really did stand out from the rest. Re. the perceived negative comments - I want to say that you have evoked HUGE emotional response from this image. People have been moved to leave many comments during and post challenge. What an exceptional honour for you. People have invested time and thought in responding to your photo. People have also been honest enough to give a true insight into how they reacted to the image.

Without fail, the commentors that revealed that they thought she looked anorexic, have also indicated an admiration for the shot in terms of technicals etc...
To say they think she looks anorexic, does not carry the thought with it that she is ugly....
A large number of the comments around her thin body have come from males - interesting enough...?
As a woman, I am ashamed to admit, I would give a whole LOT to look this thin, but at the same time I am disturbed by her frail body and would worry if my daughter ever looked like this.
It's a disturbing image - you set out to create this look and you achieved your goal. It's an astounding image and one which will stay in people's minds for a long time. Well done.

In the past, others have asked for and received comments on "no Comment Pics" why their portraits did so badly - responses have alluded to the models' pimples, poor skin quality, simply subjective beauty and so on. Those comments have been welcomed.
So as fir3bird said - sit back and enjoy your success and stop pouting!!! This site is about sharing and learning together - you can't do that if people aren't honest.
