This ol' House (Shakin Stevens)by PtmanComment by jimmythefish: The fence on the right hand side cuts into the house a bit, I'd have taken the shot a bit more to the left I think. It's always challenging to shoot into the light source but you've managed to keep the detail in the shadows, for the most part. If I had to hazard a guess, this looks like PTMAN's work...?? Seems Australian to me! Nice clarity to the shot. |

Outback Bus Stopby PtmanComment by KarenB: Critique Club Assignment
Initial: What an unusual area for me to see. I like the contrast between the color of the sky, and the browns in the grass and trees.
Composition: Nice choice to put the bus shack to one side, however I am thinking it would be better to have placed it on the right side..my eye, though at first captured by the scene beyond, keeps going around the corner and into the dark hollow of the shack and subsequently out of the picture to the left, where I have to start over by looking into the distance where the pattern repeats.
Technical: Again, the colors are wonderful.. Love the earthy feel. The clarity of detail is excellent as I can see the differences in the bark of the trees, and yet even the larger limbs of the distant tree on the hill.
Impact: This stops me, but doesn't say wow. It is somewhere in between. I think it may be because of the position of the shack...
I didn't vote on this challenge, but I would say I would have given this a 7-8. |

Too Much of a Good Thing!by PtmanComment by jmsetzler: very nice work.. I think the yellow background on this image was an excellent choice. It nicely compliments the color of the beer without being overpowering... excellent work :) = 9 - setzler |

Too Much of a Good Thing!by PtmanComment by amonteforte: This one is technically perfect. No flares or burned reflections on glass; dead on focus and atractive colour management. Although one type of alcohol is no real stranger to the other, it surely looks strange to me. Have you tried this with a black background? Great shot. |

This ol' House (Shakin Stevens)by PtmanComment by Harz_Joerg: Fits wonderfull to the title: it's probably impossible to find a better house for this song. A little cropping and a frame would have probably improved the image, but still: thumb up.
