Orange you thirsty?by stare_at_the_sunComment by danderson107: There are a couple of bothersome shadows from the water. Nice capture on the water and this is a nice water abstract. Seems a little out of focus/soft on the orange object being dropped which causes my focus to beome the crisp water but I keep going back to the bright color. Hope this helps. I'm just writing as I study it. |

DPby stare_at_the_sunComment by eschelar: What is interesting about this picture is that it almost captures a "floating in midair" kind of feel. I wonder what would have happened if you could have achieved a black background by using a more light-absorbing fabric or something, but also raised the Dr Pepper up a little on some other type of object. A narrow glass with a couple of peices of gum or something would work fine.
I like the light. I don't like the reflection on the floor. I also thing it might be possible to not do the anti-reflective BG and just raise the glass up and maybe try to find a way to make the floor look more like a wall?
This isn't really that bad. I look forward to seeing your 5.3 and 6.0 entries. |

The end is near...by stare_at_the_sunComment by ubique: Terrific apocalyptic vision. Especially love the HIGH VOLTAGE sign in combination with the overhead wires ... I can hear AC/DC quite clearly when I look at this image! The trio of lighted windows suggests some of the neighbours have shut themselves in, perhaps hoping to ride out the coming ultimate event. Anyway, it's great idea, and is composed, lighted and processed brilliantly. 10. |

DPby stare_at_the_sunComment by stare_at_the_sun: Haha...yeah, I took this photo like 30 minutes before the challenge started just because I wanted to enter one on my first night, lol.
I've entered two more and they are getting 5.3 and 6.0....so at least I'm doing a little better... |

DPby stare_at_the_sunComment by mesmeraj: i disagree with the "too dark"s if your monitor is calibrated its not too dark for the mood you were trying to achieve (which doesn't do too well on DPC, just so you know, not so you should change). However, the image has very little interest to it and the hhighlights under the can are blown.
Everyonehas to start somewhere. Welcome to DPC. |
