He doesn't look comfortable, and his apparent discomfort seems to make me uncomfortable. It's a nice portrait shot, but I don't feel that it fits this challenge. (If [ascertained solely from your title] you were going for the "his friendship comforts me" thing, then it's too much of a stretch to work.)

of the black and white ones this is my favorite. its seems the tree roots and the shore are ever so slightly out of focus. a little bit of sharpening might fix that right up.

composition is very good. my only real suggestion is clone out the rocks/dirt in the background. i think by doing this the eagle would stand out more because the background would be more unified. well done

of the zoo ones this is my favorite. i wish the right side didnt have as much pattern and color to it cuz as is i find it somwhat distracting. it might help if you dodged it a little bit. with regards to the tiger/cat i think it looks pretty good. my only suggestion is possibly making the eyes seperate layers so you can increase the blue in them a little bit. its just an idea, but i think it might look really good. overall great job though. keep it up caleb!
