Helical Illumination by crabappl3Comment by Anachronite: way cool.. the subject is great... maybe a higher fstop and slower shutter would give a deeper field of focus and clearthe details up a little.. plus the slower shutter might darken the room up a little which might get rid of some shadows and maybe show some more of those colors |

Sorry, but I like the black and white version I saw this same challenge more because it shows more contrast and therfor emphazises the structure of the wood much better.
To be more specific, I find this photo a little to dark and I don't think that the border is an improvement. |

Adornmentby crabappl3Comment by Paige: Ok, so this is the same shot as the other door, but in color? The black and white version works better, IMO, it does a better job at bringing out the texture in the wood and the metal. This seems a bit too dark. |

Helical Illuminationby crabappl3Comment by 3boyzMom: I like the shot and the cropping here but my eye is very drawn to the light spilling in from that one window in the bottom row...I would have cloned that out with photo shop. Nice use of light and shadow overall and very beautiful colors.
