i like the optical illusion that happens here...if you stare at the middle of the square, the doors appear to move. there is a color version of what appears to be the same door...i don't feel that same illusion...it's interesting to compare the two...i definitely like this one much better

I almost submitted this same shot! Glad I switched at the 11th hour! Had fun shooting on Saturday, guess we need to discuss what we're submitting so this doesn't happen again.

That being said, nice shot, a little dark and might stand a bit of a unmask sharpen. I like your composition.

Great picture! There are so many elements of design encorporated in the picture you could hardly go wrong. (Reflection, pattern, shape and form, texture, point of view, perspective and shadow.) The use of F22 gave your picture a great depth of field which is so important when doing scenery. The only negative I see is the loss of some of the detail in the old church. This was caused by your light meter reading the sky or bright building instead of the church. This could be corrected in a couple of ways. The first is to lock your readings in place by aiming at the church and depressing the shutter slightly then without letting up on the shutter release compose your picture and finish the shot. The second way is to bracket your picture. Unless your camera has the capability to change into manual mode this would not be possible. If you would like to know more about bracketing, email me and I'll explain in greater detail. (9) JG

The building is beautiful and I love the bushes in front. That sure is a strange land beside. I still can't figure it out. Kinda looks like a reflection of some sort, but in what I'll never guess. This is strange and awesome. I like it and would give it an 8 if I could. PTL
