First Impression - the most important one: What a cutie!! Great expression on the face.

Composition: I like the composition of this shot a lot. Having the "empty" space to the right really gives the feeling that she is watching something offscreen. And having the shot done in profile makes it seem as though we are peeking into her life.

Subject: Good choice of subject. As I said, great look on the face and such a little cutie! Good colors as well, which help add some interest.

Technical (Colour, focus, and light): Colors in this shot look good, especially the reds. Nice and clean. Focus is spot on! Though I think I might suggest a slightly less shallow DOF for this challenge. I can definitely see that there is *something* in the background, but it's hard to tell what it is. This gives the impression that she's not Singled Out, merely that she's the whole photo. Lighting looks really good.

To grow its vote?: I think it may have helped voters to see a little more of what was going on behind the girl...giving her a stronger sense of being Singled Out.

Summary: Great technical aspects in this shot! Very well done and an adorable subject to boot!

"Drop your fear of candids this week and single-out a person in a crowd as your source of composition. Use minimal depth-of-field to your advantage to help isolate your subject, and as always, be creative."

Where is the crowd in this shot? You've isolated the subject from her background but it is impossible to discern whether she is in a crowd or in her own backyard.

Nice shot, but I don't see any reference to your subject being in a crowd. Offset from the background nicely, but not singled out from a crowd.
