I see what you're trying to do here. Technically, I feel that this photo could be improved. The lighting and contrast, to me, seem week. Overall, the image appears flat to me and I find that my eye is wandering around the image looking for a strong central subect. JMO.

A solid deep black background and floor plane would have really made the colors pop off the page. As it is here the background and floor plane are a dull grey/black. A more complementary lighting set-up would have illuminated the colors better - I see a single light source shining from above that washes out some of the colors on the leaves causing too much glare and causing a deep shadow on the floor.
