Greetings from the Critique Club!

..and this is the first time I got to critique two photos from the same member. Guess what would be the odds of picking two consecutive pictures from 750 in queue and both from the same person!:)

Aesthetic: I love flower shots and I have one for the same challenge myself. This one looks cool. Just white on black with hint of yellow looks cool.

Technical: Some of the detils got missed out for while on white (petals on inside of flower) but overall its well exposed.

Challenge: For sure- it fits the challenge.

Conclusion: This is certainly a lovely picture. There could be few things done to make it even better. One - too bad that the flower on right is cut. Two - follow the rule-of-thirds. Voters love it. Three - I'm not too sure of this one but glow filter might add some punch. I used it on my submission for the same challenge, which was also flowers, and it was positively received by voters. Anyway, some people are of the opinion that filters should be avoided...so dont take my word on this one :)

..and yes- the bike is still cool (for this critique also as nothing much have happended in ast 10 mins to change my mind for it) :)

Wish you a great day!

Greetings from the Critique Club!

Aesthetic: You are really lucky to have got this setup but I feel you did not took full advantage of the shot which was offered. Overall a nice picture but there are distracting elements also.

Technical: The edges look little softer but the image seems to be well exposed.

Challenge: This certainly is BLUE ...so it fits the challenge perfectly.

Conclusion: This is an average composition. I think different angle might have helped. Again some basic stuff needs to be taken care of. Image is bit flat and it needs work on contrast. Some overall sharpening is needed. The gate seems to be distracting and different crop or angle would help. But yes- the red of tail-light is complimenting the blue and makes the blue stant out. Relflection look great.

I did not voted for this challenge but would have given anything between 5-6 for this one. I must admit that you have got eye for interesting stuff :)

You have got much better pictures in your profile ..and offcourse- a cool bike. Looking forward to more picture from you.

I'm by no means expert in area of photography. My comments are purely based on my limited understanding of technology and art behind digital photography. Apart from doing detailed evaluation of your submission, my intent is to learn different styles of photography by critically evaluating selective submissions. If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via email or PM.

Wish you a great day!

unfortunately this is a little JPEG artifacts along the edge, nice shot, if I was being picky I'd say the lighting is a little harsh as the sharpness isn't spot on

Nice capture, sort of abstract, like the contrast between the stone carving and the blue sky, however, your sky is very pixelated on the right, which I find distracting. Saving at a higher quality setting (to use the available 150kb) would probably solve this.

:-) I am the type that really wants to know the title of the book. Apart from that, it's like the photographer has snatched a moment out of the other person's life, for me, that is what photographing is about, snatching moments, and for keeps of course. That is the feeling of it and for me, always the most important factor.
The red in the background, both door/wall and red/orange in the flowers make for a good warm background. Cropping fine, at first I thought it could 'lose' a bit on the right, but then again, this is ok.
The light is the tricky bit. Contrast between the shadow and the light is strong. The tables and chairs being grey/silver does not help.
