just another dayby Car54Comment by Ja-9: IMO I would have like this with a bit more gaussian blur added...it is on that cusp of...not quite in focus not quite out....so to me it need a kick in the blur direction |

just another dayby Car54Comment by Paul: OK, I'm going through the Free Study submissions, purposefully finding those images I think are shot with a less conventional eye - this is one of those images! Thanks for offering something that isn't just DPC friendly eye-candy (though of course there's nothing wrong with eye-candy). I'll be picking one of these images for the Mu (most underrated) award:
Positives:So many interesting elements in this image - the deep perspective offered by the path leading all the way to the cityscape. The nonchalance of the figures in almost pure silhouette, the ashen tones and the blurry, old feel.
Critical Stuff: It might be my monitor but I'm seeing a lot of blocky artefacts in the sky.
Overall: A really compelling image, one that makes you want to linger to look - I also think the aspect ratio is brave and inspired. Excellent stuff. |

The Parkby Car54Comment by MaryO: Interesting choice to use sepia. Can't quite see what's in the water and what I can see of the buildings looks like they could have been around for 10 years or 100, which makes this somewhat timeless. The dark clouds in the sky add a broody feeling. |

The Parkby Car54Comment by one2one: Now if you added some scratches and some dust spots I would think this was from the early 1900's. |

winter parkby Car54Comment by kevip6: Needs a bit of floor/pavement in this to ground the shot. Otherwise I like the B&W treatment |
