i dont see how the shutter speed has any impact on this photo. but ill give u the benefit of the doubt which I really don't think I should do. otherwise this is just a plain dog photo nothing particularly interesting to me. If you had the tail actually wagging or more of an expression, perhaps that would help.

very dramatic!

perhaps a slowing the shutter a bit more would help this shot alot. I like how you tried to make the image grainy but the ISO used for this shot is tooo high, 800 is recommended to be used as the most for grainy effects since 1600 is basically way too much.

the exposure of the moon is a little too much as well imo, the over all feel represents an erie emotion but thats what i like about it! your eye tend to wander alot in this picture as well..the rule of thirds is a nice thing to follow, perhaps cropping it in a different way would have helped...try playing with the levels and curves next time to see what shadows stand out since the darkness is over powering.

the clouds are my favorite piece of this shot as well as the reflection on the lake but because its so dark it tends to lose its competive edge over all.

A good concept, but the colors seem a bit griany (although that may have been intentional on your part). For me, had the moon and reflection been off centered it would add more interest. Also, I wonder how this would look if you lowered your horizon to show more of the sky and thereby keeping your horizon out of the dead center photo zone also.

I love the way the upper flower is hugging the stem so it doesn't fall down while "talking" to the flower on the left. Cute...a little busy with the tilted purple *striped* background, but all in all, a very appealing shot~
