Oh I do love this one. It's a very cool place to go and this is a great shot to show it off. Lovely rich deep tones, especially the sky. The composition is very good with the curve of the rocks. And of course an excellent use of shadow!

What an awesome photograph of such an interesting place. The Joshua Tree shadow really makes this photo interesting. My favorite part though is the graduated dark sky. I love skies like that. I also like the sepia toning on this shot. The weak side? Probably the low contrast in the rocks. Try a separate curves adjustment layer or two with everything masked out except for the rocks to bring out the contrast and detail a little more perhaps.
