I like this. Simple, yet effective. I could see this hanging on a wall somewhere with the right color scheme. If I had one nitpik on it I would say the DOF could have been a little deeper to bring the nut in the recessed area into focus.

I live at the seaside, and often photograph on the beach, but this is better than I have been able to shoot. I think it seems to have a touch of sunset about it, and seem to see colour refractions from the light rainbowing the bent rocks under the water - very effective! I think some movement of the ripples has been caught, which drags the image of the rocks and extends them, and you have chosen just the right length of exposure.

Very nice image on all counts, and just a lovely level of contrast and juxtaposition of sharpnesses
