Through my Father's mirrorby patrinusComment by LadeeM: I'm guessing that this is two different people, a younger man and an older man. Hopefully, most people are looking past the fact that you have a frame and it's not really a mirror. To have the younger man more clearly in the photo, to emphasize that it's not a true mirror, may have worked a little better. As it is, I really like it. Good luck. |

Through my Father's mirrorby patrinusComment by notesinstones: I kept coming back to this because I knew I was missing something. Then I see the that the hands are not matching! HA! Bumping up a point from previous voting now that I get it. I wonder how you will do, its one of those shots you have to spend some time looking at.... with 350 plus entries people may not spend the time. Hoping that is not the case. The only thing I would add critique wise would be to have more of the bodies showing for composition reasons... |

Through my Father's mirrorby patrinusComment by macrothing: 7 - Mainly for the concept and effort. Criticism; sharper focus on 'one or the other'. In this kind of 'illusion', I think extreme attention to detail is required, from finger positioning to 'foam placement', etc. The tiled background seems to give a slightly 'uneven' appearance to the 'mirrored reflection', therefore in my opinion, may be detracting from the potential here. Angle also needs fine tuning, but a good effort overall, I just think that with further 'time' and detail, this could have been even better. Lastly, I think given the 'concept' and title, somehow 'revealing' the 'face of the son' a fraction more, is required, as at a quick glance, it is not easily discernible as a 'son/father'. edit:typo & sorry to see so many 1's. edit2:in retrospect, this really didn't 'meet the Challenge' (not a reflective surface), I guess your 'illusion' impressed me enough I 'forgot' that aspect of the Challenge (yet another reason I'd like to see the description on each voting page), had I not, would have been a 2/3/4, again for your efforts. Like to see this in the next 'illusions' type Challenge. Perhaps those 1's were 'not reflective surface DMC's' and not just 'this is a mirror DMC's'. Message edited by author 2005-10-26 18:03:01. |
