I admit I was a little blocked when it came to what I was going to shoot. Originally I was going to do something with the Jefferson memorial, with its nice curve of columns it makes a nice subject. Of course when I saw that it also won the previous Perspectives challenge it kind of threw a wrench into my plan. After looking through the almost 100 pictures I had taken for this, I just kept coming back to this one. I cropped to the top of the monument, which was basically flat at that point anyway, to kind of make it appear like a road up into the sky. Had I to do it all over again I think I would have shot it at the corner to add some depth to the image. As it is, there is just not enough texture to the top half of the image.
