I am very pleased with the performance of my first challenge. I agree with the comments that the rear part of the horse was to dark. I blurred the background in Photoshop. In reality the sculpture is about 5-10 feet from the building and there was no angle where it didnt appear in the shot. I felt that it was to distracting so I made the creative choice to blur it and keep the focus on the man and the horse. But I should have waited for better light, lesson learned :)

I drive by this on the way home from work every day and I knew it would be a good subject for the challenge. I even had a picture of the way I wanted it to look in my head. In the end, other than what was already mentioned, it came out exactly as I had imagined it. Which is what photography is all about! So I am very pleased. Thanks all.

A strong composition and I like the relief from the theme of tree branches. To be a truly great shot however, I'd like to see outtakes of several versions at different times of the day. The direction of the light at the moment doesn't sculpt the form as strongly as it could considering how strong the light is.
