This is one of those shots that many call a snapshot. If you do not have an emotional attachment to the subject it really doesn't do much for you. Photographicaly it looks like your white balance is a bit off. Too much yellow in the skin tones.

Nice...but the long shutter due to the night lighting has caused some softness and therefore some of the details just become entangled within itself.

I really like this idea and the earth is awesome in colour - I think for it to really explode as an image I would have gotten down REALLY low and taken it from ground view. Good Luck.
