Well, slowly getting round to commenting on my return from holiday. I like this for so many reasons, the lovely curved lines being the primary reason, but also the grain of the wood gives an illusion of some kind of motion blur. I like this very much.

Nothing really wrong with the 70-200mm as a portrait lens, really. It can suffer from some distortion (causing a measure of flatness) at certain focal lengths depending on shooting distance, but it can be really nice for candids.

The lack of shadows in this shot hurt it more for flatness than the distortion though, and it looks a little over-sharpened, especially in the eyes, giving it more of a 'point and shoot' look. I like the soft-focus though.

Background is a little dull, and the natural color of her hair is begging to be released a little more in my eyes.
