Moving Rocksby gaurawaComment by dunnewold: Beautiful-this goes on Luke's favorites.
IMO this is better than the similar one (similar in subject)
that placed 3rd in this challenge. Well composed, and I like
the detail in the foreground, while it doesn't stray from a
"landscape" photograph. |

Badwaterby gaurawaComment by Mephisto: if you say, you photographed this one on the mars, i would believe it, because this perfectly flat area in the foreground in composition with the mountains in the background look so surreal!
and then the planet in the upper left corner is planet earth... ;P
really amazing! |

Curvesby gaurawaComment by ButterflySis: I think this one is absolutely beautiful, too. My second fave, I think. I actually like the lack of shadows because it seems like 'every' sand dune we see has them. This is different and I like it just the way it is. |

Badwaterby gaurawaComment by jaxter: Amazing. I honestly can not think of a better way to express it. Did you manually fade the upper left corner and add the moon or is this straight from the lens? Either way it's incredible. Personally, when I can manage to capture the kind of DoF that you've captured here in my own shots, I'll start considering myself a photographer instead of a weekend picture taker. :o) |

Curvesby gaurawaComment by jaxter: You are right about some sun and the resultant showdows would have given a greater feeling of depth. Consider this though, it quite likely (unless you really tweaked the settings), would have blown out on the tops of the dunes. The cloud layer was thin enough to allow some light, and to my eye it was sufficient to give it enough depth to do the trick. You should be very proud of this shot. Looks awesome! |
