Model in the Makingby KatmystiryComment by Beach_mel: Ditto what everyone else said. I would run curves on it and see if you could get rid of the bluish skin tone, warm it up a little. Aside from that it's precious! |

Model in the Makingby KatmystiryComment by UNTITLED: Very nice photo, this is one I probably would of overlooked since I tend to gravitate towards the landscapes. I like the composition alot.
The expression is great, you captured one of lifes finer moments. I disagree with Olddj's comments a little, I don't find the background distracting. Unless you're trying to emphasize the whisps of hair. I see the halo too, but probably wouldn't of noticed it myself.

Model in the Makingby KatmystiryComment by Jammur: One of the better 'kid' pictures I've seen. Her expresion is very engaging, a factor which makes it interesting to me. Someone on the site uses a quote which says there are two people in every photo, the photographer and the viewer. That's an important thing to remember.
T&A (technical and artistic)is great, wouldn't change a thing. Message edited by author 2005-11-04 17:09:01. |

Model in the Makingby KatmystiryComment by olddj: LOL, I am not the one supposed to be critiquing this, but I had to tell you that is one of my all time favorite little kids pictures!! That expression is SO darling, great capture. My critique would be there is a small halo effect behind the blue shirt I would clone out, or get rid of in some fashion, and the background behind the hair is a BIT distracting to me, as the whisps of hair seem to blend into it a little bit too much, otherwise - nice depth of view, like the contrast and feeling from this photo very much. Hope this helps/say something to you!

Model in the Makingby KatmystiryComment by jenesis: Hi Kat, first off this is an adorable look you captured and that's the most important part. :-) I would maybe think about boosting the contrasts and colors on this just a little bit and do a little bit of sharpening especially to the eyes. A layer of light dodging and burning might help with the contrast boost, nothing heavy just enough to show a little more dimension. The DOF is great, might try to brighten up the little girl and tone down the background just a bit so she's not competeing with it so much. Overall, this is really cute! :-) |

It Is All In Her Eyesby KatmystiryComment by Katmystiry: Just a follow up for those interested. This was my 2nd challenge here and I am so happy with the results. Ice is 8 yrs old, the blue cast came from me trying to boost her white in order to get the yellow cast out of her aged fur adjusting hue/saturation/brightness .. I did find a better way thanks to the comments I received here! Ice has a gold and blue eye and is VERY deaf .. which makes her extra special and spoiled. Thank you all for your comments, votes and help, they are truly appreciated. |
