Viperby ArpeggioAngelComment by glad2badad: Yikes. This one gives me the heebee-jeebies! JK. Very nice closeup shot that does a nice job of showing the scales/textures of this snake.
Might be a smidgen noisy but I'd imagine you were at a higher ISO considering zoo lighting conditions.
Well done! |

Gaboon Viperby ArpeggioAngelComment by tryals15: I just saw this picture. It's interesting. Having the snake face away from the camera does two things for me. First it makes me feel less threatened (not that I have any problems with snakes.. =]) and Second, it makes me wonder what, if anything, it's looking at. It adds a bit of intrigue, you might say. |

camelby ArpeggioAngelComment by tryals15: This one is a little too head on for my taste. A foot or two in any direction would have given more depth to the shot. This one feels a bit distorted; you can't really get a feel for how far it is from the tip of the nose to the eyes... |

Baby Giraffeby ArpeggioAngelComment by tryals15: I like this shot a lot. The neck and turned head create really nice lines through the image.
As far as the composition, I think that it would work better to have the the giraffe farther to the right in the frame, so that it wasn't looking out of the frame. Everything just 'feels' tilted to the left at the moment.
The tones seem a bit muted, but I'm guessing they are true to what you saw at the zoo. I'd be tempted to bump the sat/cont up a bit to see what that did the the image... Just a thought! =]
You've really got some great shots here. Keep up the great work! |

jaguarby ArpeggioAngelComment by tryals15: Another great cat shot. This moment you've catured is much more intimidating that some of the other shots you've gotten. This shot gives me a strong feeling that I wouldn't want to meet this guy in the wild. Good job capturing that!
I like the processing here as well. The tones are deep but defined. |

jaguarby ArpeggioAngelComment by mecfcosta: I actually disagree with timfythetoo about the flatness of color - I think that's what makes this photo interesting to me, aside from the great expression. It's a different type of color, not so much traditional, which works for me.
Maybe a little sharper and this would be the best one of the pack. :) |
