stripesby ArpeggioAngelComment by Tammer: Wow! I think this is a wonderful, tight closeup. Good contrast and love the eye. Way to go! :-) |

South Mountain Sunsetby ArpeggioAngelComment by Cutter: I disagree. I like it. It really is vivid and alive. The only thing is the inner fuzzy white border is not complete, and I find that distracting. |

Spanish Mossby ArpeggioAngelComment by cycomerlin14: Not exactly appealing to the eyes. From what I see it's just a picture of moss. Maybe next time instead of head-on you could take a shot from an angle, under it, or something to make it, the moss, stand out. |

Snowy Egretby ArpeggioAngelComment by owen: Despite being a bit noisy the subject is great. Maybe putting the bird in the top third of the frame would have looked better too. |

Snowy Egretby ArpeggioAngelComment by Tammer: Some nice areas of contrast, and for me, some areas such as the water are so similar in gray values that it lessens the overall contrast of the photo....if that makes sense? :) |

Dragonfly & Lilypadby ArpeggioAngelComment by brianlh: Surely a nice capture considering how fast and often these things must move! I've tried photographing live insects with wings.. and it's DEFINITELY not easy.. and to have to watch out for gators too! I would've probably turned around and looked for something else.. ;)
Anyway, on to th e photograph. I think the selective desaturation on the lilypad looks a bit odd, and am wondering if that has anything to do with the patchiness in the bottom left corner? Since this is an advanced editing challenge, I would've considered cloning that patchiness up so that it matched well with the rest of the water. With the lilypad, perhaps a slight desaturation (or change in lightness?) would've worked better.
The detail on the dragonfly is certainly good, so you did well there.
A nice shot either way, but just some food for thought above. :) |
