This is a very good interpretation of the idea of desolation. The small picture bespeaks desolation in stronger visual words than do many of the large picture submissions.

The simplicity of the composition plus the strength that the shadow lends to the composition really makes this for me
Technical: Technically well executed 2
Slight loss of focus on the "tail" of the spine and a little washed out area under the shell hold this back from being near perfect
Wow: Slaps you in face 3
This is one of th best shots of the challenge
