Practicing with Lightby RWTaylorComment by chariot: I have found that the following comment is completely based on my opinion and not necessarily true techical rule. I think you need more DOF and I believe it should start from the front of your subject. For this picture I would have strived to have the DOF encompass the entire flower and then leave the other flowers on the edges of the frame out of focus. |

If the depth of field encompassed the front side of the large flower, I think the impact would be much greater. I feel that the large flower should be almost completely in foucs here. If it was to lose focus, I would feel better about it losing focus on the back side rather than in the foreground... = 6 - jmsetzler |
