Symbiosisby yankoComment by dahkota: In this image the petals stand out so strongly I really don't care to see the bee. The detail and depth in the petals is mesmerizing. For me, the bee blends into the center (love the hues). Also really like the DOF. Love the B&W treatment. |

The composition of the layout and the color/BW are both great.
Could you tell me how did you do the partial desaturation and the this frame?
Thanks in advance,

In photoshop I desaturated the image using a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer. I then created a mask on the Hue/Saturation layer. Using a soft brush (hardness=0) on the mask I brought the color back by just brushing over the bee and flower areas.
I also used several level/curves layers to adjust the contrast and selective color to tweak the color a bit. I hope that answers your question. If not let me know. Oh and thanks for the comments. Message edited by author 2005-12-13 02:08:39. |

Watchful Eyeby yankoComment by geewhy: This was one of the most underrated shots in the challenge in my opinion.
How my effort finished 108 places higher, I`ll never understand. |
