Blending options is located in the layer style window in photoshop. It gives you the option to blend if gray, red, green, blue depending on the color space you're using. It looks siimilar to the gradient tool in that it shows a gradient color going from dark to light with two markers on each end. If you hold down the alt key and click near one of the markers you'll get another marker added which allows you to adjust the blending little by little in real time. It's pretty handy to use with the cloud and differential cloud filters to produce effects such as fog or anything else you want to seep through from underneath the layer you are working on. I used it on the bike photo over at ppchallenge.com
I also slapped on a mask to the layer and erased some more with a low opacity brush to fine tune the blending. Message edited by author 2007-10-18 23:36:27. |

memoirsby yankoComment by Retroesque: Holy Moly - if this is a quick stab - I can't wait to see what you'd do if you set some time to an image - GRIN!
This is the PERFECT use for such a layer. |

life's a stageby yankoComment by JawnyRico: To be honest with you I kinda really like this shot. I had to come back to it, because at first I went through all the pics really quick but made a note to come back to this. I think a lot of people will pass it up and think gross, but I actually really like the texture and feel to this shot. It appears to be almost a NIN Cd cover. The sharpness and clarity are right on. I like the composition and the tones and contrast are right on. Your horizontal line is perfect and the title works. Very nicely done. 9 |
