Good seemed the worldby quiet_observationComment by krnodil: There was something in the back of my brain that referenced that b&w shot from the August blur thread - I thought of it, but didn't think it was exactly the same one. Nice to see this was you - love the way these branches meander all around the frame - with the brilliant greens, the shot has quite a lot energy. Remarkable how you can get a completely different feel from the same shot depending on whether you present it in color or b&w. |

Blueby quiet_observationComment by noraneko: Weird and wonderful, Mary. One of the few graffiti photos I think translates into art in its own right. |

Blueby quiet_observationComment by Bruce_the_Robert: From pre-historic times to today, there has been (and is) an incessant need for man and woman to leave their mark, to draw an image of an elk or a tiger, and then later, to leave a part of themselves through a name, something that cries out, "I was here, I existed, see me," an almost desperate plea for the future to remember us, without which maybe we never existed at all. So much of our lives is held in word and drawing, like what you have captured here, swirls of light and darkness, words differentiated from symbols only by context, by our understanding. I love that you saw this; I love that you captured it. I love anything that can make me think this much. Thank you. |

The lighter side of city lifeby quiet_observationComment by krnodil: Never occurred to me how much I take this view for granted. Not until reading the other comments did I realize that without context these lit houses with water for front yards might not make visual sense to others unfamiliar with the area. Very nice capture of those lights and the water reflections. Sorry about the rat. :) |

Blue Saturdayby quiet_observationComment by NikonJeb: Lovely, Mary....I love the vivid colors and yet it's so earthy at the same time. Like a bistro in Italy or something. The windows look like paintings......wonderful reflections! |
