I really like the way you have the chess pieces set up in this shot, it really gives the feeling that the "clear" King was overwhelmed by his enemies. Nice work.

hm, i get what you're trying to do, but compositionally, even though the fallen piece is on its side, it is still rather close to the standing pieces, and the angle it's laying out is fairly close to the perspective angle of the other pieces. maybe if it was seperated a bit from the group, or turned in the other direction, but as it is, i'm not exactly getting 'fallen.' it evokes something closer to worship, or wanting to belong, or bowing before power. but that's just the symbolism - the photo itself is beautiful

Nice shot! The colors of the surface and background really lend themselves to that of a chess board: simple, sharp, black and white.
