I really like this shot. the composition of having it "quartered" really adds interest, adn the colors are so rich and pleasing to the eye. Excellent work.

From the Critique Club

Tony, hello,

My first impression (when voting for the challenge) was, "Lucky person who gets to live in a place like this!"

This is a beautiful entry, and a good postcard. The frame, matting, and the lettering go well with the image. I like looking at this photo, but, to my eyes, there are a couple of details that bother me (just a little):

1 - The cropping, in particular on the left-hand side. The white of the sky meets the white of the matting (about the middle), and makes the mat look wider all of a sudden. Maybe cropping to the edge of the castle walls? Or, maybe making sure the sky is blue in this place?

2 - The perspective, it looks to me like either I or the picture is somehow leaning. I suppose a tall ladder wouldn't help much in this situation.

3 - The slight "halo" around the edge of the castle, most pronounced at the right of the picture - you possibly sharpened too much? The sky also looks a bit oversharpened.

But, as I said above, this is a beautiful entry. I am so glad you didn't divide the picture in halves (half sky / half earth) - the way you divided it works much, much better.

Keep up the good work! Take care,

Ursula I Abresch

Nice picture, I love the composition and use of color. Exposure, focus and color balance look dead on to me. Technically very well done and it even is interesting for a glass of carrot juice. I wouldn’t change anything about this shot. I gave it a 6.
