The harsh lighting on here makes this seem less loving and more aggressive. Too much glare, to my taste there is too much contrast in this shot, and not enough exploration of the subtleties of the darker shades. 4

when i do off-center subjects (most of the time), i like to place the subject so that it is looking or moving into the bigger space in the photo, instead of the opposite, like you have here. i do, however, like the way you have the line of the roof diagonal, but not exactly corner to corner. nice photo!

While I do like the grain in the shot, I find the rest of your picture to be unappealing. It's too dark and this pose has been done too many times before. The camera and your hands are blown up and enlarged and obscure your interesting looking face. In addition, I find the border to suggest just a snapshot type of picture.
