Sparkling effect of direct light (flash?) is quite pretty, and gives a sense of shininess, but I think the addition of some kind of side-light would add a sense of depth and therefore a more convincing sense of texture. Good rhythmic composition, no distractions.

Very nice shot. A touch overexposed in a couple of spots but not obnoxiously so. You managed to capture the detail nicely. I would like to see this exposed one stop less just to see if the detail is still there! At the very least a great study subject.

Nice texture. I like how the light reflects off the rope in some places. That makes it interesting to me. Had it all be uniform and all the same color, I don't think this would hold as much interest for me. looks like waves.
