after schoolby ritaardComment by langdon: It took me a while to get, but the writing on the hand is a nice touch. The composure over all is very good -- I didn't like the shot at first but I've been staring at it for 3 minutes and it's growing on me. It's very engaging. |

Melancholy Sadnessby ritaardComment by MandarinElements: Oh my god.. there's actually a comment on here that say "the plug must go"Jesus...give me a break. At least it's something different. It's not some boring piece of uhumm... that got 1-3 place. The best photos didn't get a ribbon because people didn't like different things. By the way, good going for doing something different :-) Almost got off track there!!! |

Melancholy Sadnessby ritaardComment by ritaard: hehe typical commnets... shame not too many people have an open mind / imagination. melancholy sadness - the facial expression illustrates an emotion of despair and grief. the hair spray paint represents the 'blue' mood in which he is dwelling... a sort of mist. all in all, i had fun with this photo and I don't realy mind if it came out in the bottom 10 !! hehe (because so did many of my favourite photos) |

Melancholy Sadnessby ritaardComment by AnAUTiger: How does the title fit with getting his hair painted? Would like to know more of what is happening here. The photo doesn't tell the story. |

Melancholy Sadnessby ritaardComment by Swashbuckler: I'm too old, I don't get it. What's going on here? (hair coloring?) Is the spray causing the sadness? (making it better?) Subject's face overshadowed, the reflected light on the tiles above his head give him a sort of halo. Tiles behind subject much brighter than in front, very distracting. What is that outlet on the wall? Electrical? Where in the world...... Photo 8 Creativity 7 People 7 total 7 |

Melancholy Sadnessby ritaardComment by dpchallenger: That big white space in the top left as well as that plastic thing on the wall are distracting. Probably not much you could do about the plastic thing but that big white space could be alleviated in a number of ways. e.g. 1. Crop it out e.g 2. Zoom in and recompose shot so camera view is more to the right. |
