This is something of a contrived image, in my opinion. Taken at face value, it doesn't mean much to me. Looking at it for a while, I appreciate not the subject, or the forced metaphor in your title, but the shapes. There are a lot of interesting shapes to consider, and the entire canvas is carved in a curious and intriguing way by these two. But what does it mean? What duality were you trying to evoke? I don't understand you. Technically, the contrast and tones are nice, the light is good, but there is something odd about the featureless black.
