idleby ErinMComment by Wink: I like the undulating lines contrasting with the pointy shadows of the chairs. I wonder what it would look like without the chairs showing, only their shadows? |

at eleven IIby ErinMComment by Brad: Wow - The thumbnail does not do this justice!
The focal point of her look and her eyes reaches in and firmly grabs my soul's attention, which is exactly what a good photograph should do. The choice of using that fabulous 50mm f/1.4 here was flawless and gives a very nice tapering off in focus. Some would make mention of not having the perfect single or dual catch lights in her eyes, but I see her eyes as they really would be - reflecting life, not a studio.
Very nice. Very nice indeed. |

mossy wallby ErinMComment by MelonMusketeer: I like several things in this image. The textures in the wall are great, the colors with the green and yellow, then the brick and stone colors are complex, but very interesting. The perspective is very prominent as well, another thing that I like. It must have been a huge task to build this wall. |

introspectionby ErinMComment by Wink: Benhas done a great analysis and I agree with him, although I'm not bothered by the shirt details. I hope it did well in the juried show.
Edit: Forgot to mention that I'm adding it to favorites for all these reasons. Message edited by author 2007-01-31 19:12:20. |

introspectionby ErinMComment by Ben: I don't want to go through your whole portfolio, blabbing stupidly about each one, but they are shockingly good.
I like this one even more than the other i commented on. It is perfectly composed in my opinion. Her gaze leads away from the center, yet the whisps of hair keep your attention around her stunning eyes, to where all the interest is. The exposure is balanced just right to achieve the pure whites of her eyes without blowing anything else out, nor lose any detail. The 'bokeh' background again is not boring, but does not detract from the subject.
The ONLY thing i would make a negative comment on is how her shirt has come out at the bottom left, it seems to have washed into a grey nothing, other than that minute detail i find this an astoundingly good shot.
Thanks for sharing. |

at eleven IIby ErinMComment by Ben: Absolutely stopped me in my tracks, doesn't look like much special from the thumbnail bit it's near perfect when you see it larger.
The pose, the gentle lighting, the softness on everything but the eyes, the exposure it's all so subtle and so brilliant.
A new favourite for me. |
