I like the idea of this photo but feel the blown out petals and lack of detail in the bee are distracting. If the image was better exposed and there was more overall detail in the bee then I think the soft focus effect would work better (MHO)

I don't think I could have found something more stationary than this so kudos on choosing a strong subject for the challenge.

I think the problem voters had with this image was it looked too much like a snapshot. Almost any shot like this has that potiental so I think you really need to try and frame it in a way that is not so common. Here's how I think I would have approached it:

My first thought would be to stand directly in front of the truck and get a close up of the weeds and see how that looked in the viewfinder. Then I'd probably zoom out a bit to get enough of the car so that it's identifiable as a truck with weeds growing out of it. Another idea would be getting right up to the bumper and holding the camera as high up as I could with the widest lens possible and get a top view of the front of the truck. Basically, I'd just be looking for interesting ways to frame this but also limit any hint of movement within the frame. In your photo there is some level of that because the truck is seen as if it was entering the frame from the right. Even though we know it's not moving subconciously I read it as such (from left to right) that's why choosing a unique composition (maybe just using portrait style) for this would have been golden, IMO.

Anyway, I'm not sure this all makes sense but I hope you get the gist of what I'm saying. Let me end this by saying your image does look good. It's nicely sharpened, has good color and tonal range. I think you'll be doing much better in these challenges soon. Keep up the good work!

I really like this. The plants growing out of the car really projects the stationary theme.

Hi from CTPII Gunnsi :-)
First impression

Funny but a bit blown at the top. Setup is good but I would have tried to have the Ant a little bit higher in the photograph to use the rule of thirds. He is the main subject isn't he? Also it is a bit destracting the bright stone on the right.
What could be better
Soften the lights, you could use baking paper to cut off the direct sunshine. Maybe zoom a bit closer allowing the meet to come through and crop away the distracting things.
