5 - Met the Challenge in regard to a photo of this could be put into a time capsule to depict this era for future generations (with a little note on who it is). I actually tried to Wikipedia to find out who this is, I 'guess' it is Vietnam related, or, a relative. It does, for me, depict an aspect of the era though, so you met the Challenge fairly well - just as a 'westerner' it does not tell a 'clear' story. World politics aside, Criticism; whilst I think the effects look good, I would like to see perhaps a little bolder contrast. There is definitely a lot of character(s) in this shot, perhaps even a frame (given the 'inner frame') may have made this stand out a little more. I also congratulate you for not having an 'explanation' and putting just the year. As I said, it tells a story as it is, just that for me personally, it is not fully comprehended. I don't need to know more though to get it as a fitting shot for the Challenge.

Great idea for this challenge and a fitting remembrance to the people of Japan (I assume that's what you were going for here). Lighting isn't the best and the shot seems a bit out of focus.

Was really disappointed that this didn't do better in the votes. It remains my favorite. I think that although the idea was refreshing, the technical quality of the capture let you down. Good work

Or" family of three caught in frozen vegetable avalanche.." The idea is really great, and so is the perspective. Unfortunately the photo doesn't do much for me - maybe because there is too much empty floor and not enough frozen broccoli. Or maybe some other reason.
