Sunby ShannonLeeComment by ericwoo: This shot has tons of potential. First off, always try to use the full 640px composition that is offered here. Second, the right hand edges of the petals need to be included in the frame. I do really like the colors here, as well as the depth of field that you acheived. |

Happy Springby ShannonLeeComment by MikeO: Colour is good, focus is ok, background behind the lady is distracting. I just cant see this being a photojournalist picture at all. 3 |

Sunby ShannonLeeComment by bs-photos: IMHO I might've tried a little higher angle just to get a little more detail in the center of the flower. Still a really nice shot though, love the colors |

Happy Springby ShannonLeeComment by Tallbloke: There is something unappealing about your composition. Perhaps it's because both people are near the edges of the frame with a large portion of your photograph as dead space or perhaps it's because I can't really see either of their faces and so can't make a "connection" with either, perhaps it's a little bit of both and with the tilted verticals too, it just doesn't work. Sorry. |

Killing Me Softlyby ShannonLeeComment by rich: Warm regards from the Critique Club!
First impressions make a great deal in a photograph, at least to my way of thinking. My first impression is that the image is out of focus. Soft focus is one thing, but with the hair being in focus, sharply so, it makes the face look out of focus.
Of critical importance is the eye. Having that element out of focus makes the image seem somewhat vague. If the entire image had a soft focus to it this could have a dreamlike effect, but that is not the case here.
I like the composition a lot - I think the main thing here would be to experiment more with your depth of field and plane of focus - everything else looks really good to me.
Take care,
Rich. |
