Nice use of natural light and spot exposure. I like this effect (used it on one of my earlier B/W 30-day photos) and mucked around with it the other day some as well. Definitely a technique to keep in the back pocket. Glad you pulled it out here...very nice.

Mark, I totally agree about the blown highlights, it really works well here. The exposure is so perfect on your wife. Did you use a reflector to get some fill light on her? The lighting is just perfect. The only thing I might have done differently is crop out the oof couch and the corner of the table on the left side and put a dark border around to keep the eyes in. Great job and one of my favorites of the side challenge thus far.

I like this a lot, this is such an elegant shot (not too hot about the frame, though). I've been thinking of doing a dandalion shot too, just don't seem to find one lately. :)

Simple, yet elegant. Softbox worked well with this. The bordering and framing are unique...I like it.

Very sweet. Love the look & the head tilt. The little smile shows a nice touch of humility. One thing I would do is crop a bit tighter, leaving out the shallow DOF of the shirt.
