The composition with the light and dark background with similar tones against the statue look great, I could see this on a cover. One of my favourites of the challenge.

I'm not sure I like how this is divided in the background by that pot. The pattern is a bit distracting from the main subject in the front. The angle and framing/cropping of the statue is good. and I could see this on the front cover, with a different background. maybe just a plain one. continue the right side all the way to the left edge of the frame, and I think that would appeal to me more.

What surprises me less than all the syrup shots in the challenge is that I never once thought of it.

It's fairly appetizing-looking, which is a plus. The pitcher-pour looks natural. With as much plate surrounding the pancakes as you have I think I might have liked to see patterned dishware instead. Maybe a bit on the bright side.

The pancakes and syrup are well exposed showing good color and detail, but I find the photo boring and lacking in interest, probably cause it's too simple and think there should be some garnish, such as strawberries, orange slices or maybe a more interesting plate to spruce it up.
