OverlookWall.jpgby rjksteschComment by henry_buckle: I have the same opinion as the others - its a bit underexposed due to the sky. select the land and play with levels, curves and maybe shadow/highlights. Also bump up the Saturation a bit as you may lose some of the colour. Thats just my subjective opinion though.
Taking photos like this (If you use a tripod) i often take 2 seperate photos one exposed for the sky and one exposed for the land then i blend the two in post processing. This method stops graininess with post editing.
Nice photo BTW! |

SheepInLight.jpgby rjksteschComment by tsheets: This is a beautiful scene. I also like the dramatic effect (some sort of gothic glow type thing??). Only complaint is it looks like some of the sheep's hind quarter has lost detail and has a funky yellow color. Maybe some cloning from another portion of the sheep to add back the texture could be done? |

OverlookWall.jpgby rjksteschComment by tsheets: I agree with Justin, this image has a lot more potential in post processing. Obviously, you wanted the dramatic sky as part of the shot, and making sure you didn't blow the highlights has left the rest under-exposed. Try using a soft edge or gradient mask and boosting everything but the highlights in the clouds. There are some brighter areas on the landscape where the light is peeking through the clouds that could really pop with some tweaking. It's a good capture of a great vantage point. |

SheepInLight.jpgby rjksteschComment by justin_hewlett: Wow! I love this! The spotlight effect works wonderfully...was that done in post-processing? If not, hands down to you! What a great moment to capture the sheep, it works perfectly. The light leads my eyes right to the subject. I love the composition here as well. Great shot! |

FullDeer.jpgby rjksteschComment by justin_hewlett: I like this. Great bokeh. I think you could benefit it even more, however, by fixing the blown out sky in post-processing by first selecting the sky and then applying a light blue gradient. Then you could some other tools as well to make it look natural. Well, just something for you to try. |

OverlookWall.jpgby rjksteschComment by justin_hewlett: I like this photo a lot, I'm a huge fan of landscapes. Great sky. I have a suggestion though. Try selectively adjusting the rock wall in front. I think with a bit of level/curves tweaking you could really make it pop. In fact, a lot of the foreground could benefit from being brought out a bit as it appears the photo was underexposed due to the bright sky. |

Small Falls in Virginiaby rjksteschComment by justin_hewlett: Great shot, I love the great depth added by placing that rock in the foreground. I also like the sunlight peering through in the upper right corner. Did you try this photo in black and white? I think it would work well here. |
