Thanks sabphoto and jenisis. The blue thing is indeed a rock. And you are correct about the picnic table, I noticed that somewhat late. My camera will take filters of the 42mm size and I actually have a bunch I got for my slr, just too big for the sony. If I can, I try to hold it over the lens when I take a pic with the digital. I don't have alot of progs to work with I do have jasc photo shop. I am admittedly not very familiar with these progs well enough to know what to do. Thank you for your input and advice, it has all been duly noted.

I like this shot alot. The orange glow just makes the sky zing! The composition of the shot is good too. I'm a newbie myself, but slowly learning "the way". :-) I hope you keep posting your photos.

I know the camera your using isn't the greatest quality but you should still be able to benefit from it. This is a great capture but I would try a couple things.
I like your angle on the bridge and you didn't center it up and down, thats a good thing. The image is blurry but that could be from compressing it to get it loaded. If you can (not sure what software you have access too) use some Unsharpen Mask (USM) after you resize the image, start small and increase as needed.
Next check your surroundings, the picnic table is a distraction, while I know you couldn't really go into the water or maybe even move the table in this case but it is something to watch for in future shots. Not sure what the bright blue thing is in the water to the left, maybe a rock but seems more like reflection, again your position may have prevented this but maybe you can remove them both with post processing cloning.
I'm not sure if your camera will take filters and your colors really do seem ok but you may look into a Circluar Polarizer to help cut glare and reflections and enhance your sky even more.

Good luck, keep submitting even if you can't enter contest yet. You have a good eye, just minor things.

I like the reflection in the pond. It is a bit out of focus I think. The duck is a bit bright as well. The detail gets lost.

The orange filter gives it a nice golden glow. There is some camera noise in the top left and in parts of the clouds. I like the way the clouds frame it. The short tree on the side with less clouds. More clouds on the right, more tree.

I like the way the sun is just starting to dissapear below the horizon. I think cropping the building on the left out might work better. The tree is nice too. The top almost looks painted on.
