I think i know what you're trying to do here, and it's a difficult task to do. One of the things that would make it easier is to concentrate on small part of the tree top to get the patterns out. Otherwise, the image is cluttered with branches, etc and just not very interesting. Of course, limited to zoom lens.... paganini

The color here is very nice, but the subject lacks interest... as a study in color and silhouettes, i like it... as an interpretation of this challenge, i think the subject is not supporting you as well... - jmsetzler
