sorry, but in my opinion, this barely qualifies for negative space, the checkered table cloth is too bright and actually attracting my attention. in addition, the whole photo seems a little soft overall. i wonder if you intended that, and if yes, why? i would rather see the shot a littler sharper. -- gr8photos.

Not sure where the negative space is in this image... if it's the tablecloth background, it is competing quite hard with the plate and food for attention. The focus here also seems to be a bit soft... - jmsetzler
