Going Up?by BRCPRESComment by Germaine: I really love this picture. Wish I'd taken it! My only suggestion would be to crop the upper right so that you don't have the white space at the top of the step. That would give you a solid diagonal into the corner. But that's just me... Congratulations on a great shot. |

Room with a Viewby BRCPRESComment by BRCPRES: Originally posted by Jutilda: I love the softness of this against the hard facade of the building. The lined up windows create a repetative symmetry that truly works, especially not being perfectly aligned with the edges of the shot. The red of the window boxes add a nice touch to an otherwise basic monochromatic theme. GOOD JOB. |
Thanks, Judy |

Red Runnerby BRCPRESComment by BRCPRES: Originally posted by Konador: There seems to be a green cast on the woman's skin from the bridge, making her look a bit ill, which I think could be fixed by selecting her and adjusting the hue/saturation slightly. Also, I think neatimage has been a little over-used, as the detail in the bush in the background has been lost. |
Thanks. I cleaned up the NI, and had to raise the brightness / sat to compensate. Message edited by author 2005-09-02 01:16:09. |

Days Gone Byby BRCPRESComment by BRCPRES: Originally posted by glad2badad: Somehow it doesn't look real. It's the blurred green in the corners...makes the barn look like a toy - seriously. That's just my first impression - I'm not trying to give you a hard time or anything. Of course once my eyes took in the rest of the image it's quite evident that the barn is real for sure with the foliage, etc...
Shame you have to lose such a wonderful subject for photography to development... Smile, and keep having fun! |
I agree with your comments, and can understand why you would think that. I have struggled with that portion. The grey sky area was due to a hell of a storm rolling in on me, and I shot it and "got out of Dodge." I tried to crop it out, but due to the angle I felt I'd just leave it alone. I may try to PS it out and see what becomes of it. Thanks for your comments.
Here's an attempt at correcting the sky by desaturating that area only

Days Gone Byby BRCPRESComment by Jutilda: My favorite color on earth - barn red. And this is the real thing!! I think I might like to see it from a bit of a distance but I do appreciate the detail of the boards and the brush growing up. |

Star of Knoxvilleby BRCPRESComment by Jutilda: Looooove this. The softness of the background gives it a sense of infinity. I like the squareness of the boat under the round arches of the bridge. The red adds just a touch is flash to it, yet the overall scene is soothing and peaceful. With the perspective, the boat appears almost toylike. WONDERFUL job. |
