Hola! Greetings from the Critique Club.

You know, this may have been a bit too much on the emotive side for this challenge. I seems that the statement pics in this challenge didn't really fare too well.

I understand the way you processed it was for a purpose, but I just flat don't like it. Might be harsh, but I'd rather let you know how I really feel about it. The negative space did work well.

I think having a more sad face, and having the subject looking at the viewer with those sad eyes would have done this good.

Hah, that's interesting. I gave this one a 7, myself. I note the commenter you reference actually gave a 1 "for crudity", followed by "originality" and then denying that blood is a fragrance (which would amuse anyone who ever worked in an emergency room cuz it has a copper metallic fragrance that is quite distinctive), so I suspect she meant "lack of originality" as the language is a bit fractured. Anyway, I liked it so there ya go!

I like the repeating pattern, the dust spots (if they are dust spots) are off putting. Otherwise a nice simple negative image

Lucky you! Part of me wishes I could see the greens that must be here, but perhaps you used duotones to minimize something you didn't like? If it were mine, I might tweak the curves a bit to get more range of tone - and try a non-yellowy hue to make this gorgeous vista look more vibrant.
